Application and Certification
Community Enterprise Zone Official
Complete and Submit: Rhode Island Enterprise Zone Application Form for Admission to the program to your Community Enterprise Zone Coordinator. Your Local Coordinator will certify your location in the zone and forward the application to the State Enterprise Zone Officer.
State Enterprise Zone Council
Upon approval, the State Enterprise Zone Council will notify you of being accepted in the Enterprise Zone program. In January of the following year, you will receive a Year End Certification Package which must be completed and returned to the State Enterprise Zone Council by March 15th. The Package requires:
- Verification of 5% Employment Increase
- Verification of 5% Wage Increase
- Name and Address & wages of each new full time employee
- Certificate of Good Standing from Each:
- RI Division of Taxation
- RI Secretary of State
- Local Municipality
After meeting all the requirements the State Enterprise Zone Council will issue a Certification Certificate for that year.
File your State Tax Return
- Attach A copy of the Benchmark form as Submitted to the Enterprise Zone Council.
- Attach a copy of the Certification Certificate received from the Enterprise Zone Council.
- Enter the tax credit as computed on the Benchmark Form on the "Other Credits Line"
